The proposal

The development is on previously developed, brownfield land. The proposed layout includes 33 residential dwellings with a mix of one, two and three bed homes. All the houses benefit from a private garden and a convenient bike storage at the rear of the property. The apartments have private and communal gardens and bike storage at
the back.

Pedestrian and vehicular access into the development will be provided off Filwood Broadway. 37 car parking spaces, of which 8 are electric vehicle charging spaces and 2 are accessible spaces, are provided in accordance with Bristol City Council’s car parking standards. Secure cycle parking will be provided for each dwelling.

To compensate for the loss of the existing trees that need to be removed to facilitate the development, substantial new tree planting is incorporated within the scheme including along the existing road frontages. The development will also provide significant areas of soft landscaping within the back gardens of the houses and planted areas within the public realm, and a landscape architect has been instructed to develop a high quality biodiverse planting plan.

  • Spacious and well-designed dwellings
  • Private gardens and opportunities for gain in biodiversity
  • Convenient bike storage for each house and apartment
  • 37 new parking spaces
